In addition, the new site has significantly enhanced search engine optimization built in, and added content including customer testimonials, updated Milwaukee computer recycling information, RSS feeds for news articles, used computers for sale, and more!

Now you may use different areas of the site to send us a testimonial, leave us your comments, or ask us a technical question, and we also have a few different areas for cross-promotional related activities.

With all that content, it is easy to see how the growth of our company has also naturally led to the growth of our web site and overall web presence.

Creating the aur Computer Service Wordpress Blog

Creating this blog was really a very difficult and time consuming thing for me - even though I have significant experience with computer programming in general and creating web sites too, I still found it to be very technically challenging. I started with the white space theme for its simplicity, versatility, and high contrast, and then I tweeked it over and over again and again modifying code by hand until it came out well. I incorporated several plugins including the following:

  • All in one SEO – generates meta keywords and descriptions for every page of the blog. Having a background in web sites, I could tell they were noticably missing, so I added this plugin which solved that issue elegantly.

  • Sitemap XML generator – keeps the sitemap.xml file which announces all the pages to search engines updated on the fly. Very nice.

  • supr – from Stumbleupon, automatically creates short URLs and announces my posts at the initial time of posting to the stumbleupon community, my facebook status and my twitter account. Ultra-convenient automation.

  • adsense manager – There’s everything to love about google ad revenue, and especially when it is made so convenient to incorporate into the blog with this plugin. No hand-coding of HTML and PHP files needed.

  • ultimate google analytics – Tracks hits to the blog and pages thereof very accurately with all kinds of wonderful statistics about the web traffic.

  • sociable – Adds links to post my posts on your profiles on a couple dozen different sites, though many more options are available.

I also created custom URL permalinks with the index.php at the start so that post dates and titles would appear as part of the link text, and checked all the options to notify all the search engines of updates, including signing up for a yahoo developer account. In addition, I made sure the feed links were operational.

When all was set I made my first couple of posts and tested it out.

Satisfied with the results, I announced it to all the major search engines and scheduled up enough posts to last for the next week while I went on vacation at a rate of one post every two days.

So if you like what I have done here, and you would like to help you do the same, let’s talk.
